Security Engineer

Job Title: Security Engineer
Duration: 3 months
Location: Victoria, London
Working Pattern: Onsite, 5 days per week
IR35 Status: Outside IR35

We are looking for an experienced Security Engineer to work with one of our FS customers on an initial 3-month contract, based onsite in near Victoria. In this role, you will work closely with an internal Architect to gain a clear understanding of the overall security strategy and collaborate with a 3rd Party Mimecast Engineer to implement the necessary changes and ensure the plan is executed effectively. Your expertise will help strengthen email security and enhance data protection across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborative Planning: Work alongside the Architect to understand the wider security strategy and vision, and assist in translating the plan into actionable security improvements.
  • Mimecast Implementation: Collaborate with the 3rd party contact to implement the required changes to Mimecast solutions, focusing on email security and SecureWeb.
  • Security Policy Review & Enhancement: Review the current security policies and recommend improvements to email security, Active Directory (AD), Exchange, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
  • DLP & Email Security Optimisation: Configure and optimise DLP settings to protect sensitive data and enhance email security measures to prevent phishing, spam, and malware threats.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with other internal teams to ensure security measures are deployed effectively and align with business objectives.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Mimecast: Proven experience working with Mimecast solutions, especially for email security and SecureWeb.
  • Email Security: Strong understanding of email security practices, including anti-spam, malware protection, and phishing prevention.
  • DLP: Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and techniques for protecting sensitive data.
  • Active Directory (AD) & Exchange: Solid understanding of Active Directory and Exchange security configurations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, while also being a strong team player.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement effective security solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
