Network Engineer

Network Engineer – 3-month contract – London – Outside of IR35

My Customer is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join their team and play a key role in a network simplification project. This initiative aims to streamline their existing network infrastructure, alleviate routing and firewall challenges, and optimize firewall requirements to improve overall performance and security.

You will work on network design, configuration, and implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new network solutions in our data center environment.

The Network Engineer is required full time onsite in London for the duration of the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and redesign network architecture to simplify routing and firewall configurations.
• Optimize or remove unnecessary firewall dependencies, ensuring a secure yet efficient network.
• Work with Cisco ACI, Checkpoint, ASA/Firepower, and other relevant technologies.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize network infrastructure across datacenter environments.
• Collaborate with security and operations teams to ensure smooth implementation of changes.
• Document configurations, changes, and best practices for ongoing network management.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco networking and Cisco ACI.
• Expertise in firewall technologies including Checkpoint, ASA, and Firepower.
• Proven experience in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working in datacenter environments with a focus on network security and optimization.
• Solid understanding of routing protocols and network performance tuning.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Outside of IR35
