PLEASE NOTE: This role is predominantly a weekday role, however occasional  weekend work may be required. Please see the normal working hours below:

Week 1: 08:00am - 16:30pm Monday to Thursday (30 min unpaid lunch) 08:00 to 13:30 Friday

Week 2: 08:00 – 16:30 Friday (30-minute unpaid lunch)

VIQU have partnered with a leading entity in operational technology and digital transformation. Operating in highly regulated and demanding industrial sectors, they have successfully executed pivotal projects across energy, nuclear, renewables, water, and manufacturing domains. They are seeking a Material Controller to join their central team. The Material Controller will report into the Stores Team Leader and will be required to control the materials held within the store.

Key Responsibilities of the Material Controller:

  • Manage the receipt and processing of deliveries, ensuring all documentation is verified and retained in the ERP system.
  • Maintain the electronic inventory management system, ensuring materials are stored in a manner that allows for easy identification and preservation of their condition.
  • Collaborate with the production team and engineers to understand the required parts and components for project delivery.
  • Oversee the issue of materials, ensuring traceability is maintained throughout the process.
  • Order and manage consumables where consignment stock is not applicable.
  • Control the issue of PPE, ensuring accurate records are kept.
  • Oversee the calibration of tools and equipment, maintaining the calibration database.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills, a methodical approach, and a commitment to continual improvement while ensuring control of materials to support the successful and timely completion of projects.

Requirements of the Material Controller:

  • Friendly and tactful approach when dealing with others and collaborative team member who integrates well within a larger group.
  • Skilled in forward planning, coordinating tasks, and managing competing priorities.
  • Strong administrative abilities with a solid understanding of computer systems.
  • Prioritises health and safety in all aspects of work.
  • Familiarity with electrical components or a background in electrical work (desired)
  • Previous experience using the Microsoft Nav ERP system (desired)
