IT Project Manager

Job Title: IT Project Manager (Infrastructure & Network)
Location: Northampton - 3 days per week (with travel to project sites in North West and South Yorkshire)
Contract: Inside IR35, 3 months +

About the Role:

I’m looking to speak with experienced IT Project Managers with strong Infrastructure and Network backgrounds to lead a network refresh initiative across two key manufacturing and distribution sites—one in the North West and one in South Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the delivery of a high-impact network transformation project in collaboration with both internal technical teams and third-party suppliers.

As the IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, ensuring that the refresh is delivered on time, within scope, and without any downtime. You will need to have previous experience with Cisco DNA, SDN, and SD-WAN technologies, and ideally have worked in a similar manufacturing or distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the network refresh project, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams and third-party suppliers to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Coordinate the installation and configuration of Cisco DNA/SDN/SD-WAN technologies.
  • Oversee additional related projects, such as the domain controller replacement and other network enhancements.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring clear communication on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Ensure best practices for IT infrastructure are adhered to, and mitigate any potential technical risks.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management, ensuring alignment with the broader business objectives.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in IT project management with a focus on infrastructure and network upgrades, ideally in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Cisco DNA, SDN, and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage large, complex projects, from planning through to delivery.
  • Previous experience in managing domain controller and other infrastructure-related projects is a plus.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams and external partners.
  • Ability to be onsite 3 days a week in Northampton or one of the project sites in North West or South Yorkshire.
  • Eligible to work within IR35 regulations.
