Infrastructure Engineer – 3 Months Initial – Outside IR35 – Remote (Ad Hoc Travel)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer to lead the implementation of a refreshed hardware environment, with a primary focus on networking and firewall management. The successful Infrastructure engineer will play a critical role in configuring and deploying a new network infrastructure while ensuring best practices for security and efficiency. This role requires expertise in NSX-T design and administration, along with strong capabilities in VLAN configuration and Sophos firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy a new network environment, ensuring alignment with best practices.
• Implement and manage NSX-T, providing design and administration expertise for the upgraded system.
• Configure Sophos firewalls and oversee their integration within the new network infrastructure.
• Extract configurations and replicate existing setups in the refreshed environment.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth deployment across multiple customer sites.
• Provide guidance and support on VLAN configuration and associated networking tasks.
• Assist with decommissioning replication groups as part of the project close-out.

Key Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise in NSX-T design and administration, with the ability to implement best practices.
• As an infrastructure Engineer you will also have a strong background in networking, particularly in firewall configuration and management (Sophos experience highly desirable).
• Hands-on experience with VLAN configuration and optimisation in enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with VMware virtualisation technologies and multi-site deployments.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in delivering network infrastructure projects within enterprise IT environments.

Contract Details

• Role: Infrastructure Engineer
• IR35 Status: Outside IR35 (pending SDS confirmation).
• Location: Fully remote, with occasional travel to customer sites as required.
• Duration: 3-month contract (initial).
