Case Study: Delivering Cost-Saving Recruitment Alternatives For A Cardiff Public Sector Organisation

The client’s challenge…

The organisation had been working with a local IT consultancy to provide resource (including contractors) for a Microsoft Intune implementation project. However, budget constraints meant that they had to postpone the second stage of the project and cease working with the consultancy.

The team from the consultancy had undertaken the first phase of the project, but the organisation couldn’t afford to carry out the more complex and expensive second stage of the project due to the associated fees. This was a critical, large-scale project that involved the migration of 13,000 desktops to Intune, which they desperately needed to do to align with their digital transformation goals.

The business heard about our services through their connections with a South Wales-based NHS Trust, which we had successfully supported during the pandemic. Before they engaged our team for the Intune implementation project, they first asked us to secure permanent hires for two other vacant roles in their team: a Project Manager and a Security Consultant. As a Crown Commercial Service Supplier, we were able to fill the two roles quickly and at a lower rate than other recruitment agencies and consultancies were offering.

Following the successful recruitment and onboarding of the two IT team members, the organisation were confident in our ability to deliver talent quickly and cost-effectively. The organisation engaged our team to provide multiple contractors to replace their Intune implementation team.

Thanks to this knowledge, we were able to fill 3 contractor requirements for this organisation’s project. The contractors were successfully onboarded onto the team and were able to complete the much-needed implementation project. They were well-aligned with the team and the organisation, highlighted by the fact that one contractor was offered and accepted a permanent position in the team at the end of the initial engagement.
