Electrical Site Technician
Electrical Site Technician – Staffordshire/Site Based – Competitive Salary
VIQU have partnered with a leading organisation in the energy industry who are seeking a site technician to join their growing team! The role will play a vital role in delivering high-quality electrical protection and control systems for critical projects.
Key Responsibilities of the Site Technician:
- Assemble and wire electrical protection and control systems using technical drawings, parts lists, and specifications. This includes:
- Cable installation, glanding, and termination of paired, multicore, copper, and fiber optic cables.
- Perform mechanical assembly, including cubicles, frameworks and cable tray/ladders.
- Maintain high-quality standards by checking your work, completing inspection test plans (ITPs), and addressing rework as required.
- Update issue logs and work with site supervisors, designers, or commissioning engineers to resolve any issues.
- Conduct equipment builds and configuration inspections, including:
- Electrical safety checks, continuity tests, point-to-point wiring checks, high voltage withstand tests, insulation resistance tests, power-up, and equipment functionality checks. Also complete isolations.
Experience needed for the Site Technician:
- Strong hands-on experience in electrical assembly, E, C & I installation and panel wiring (Substation Control Systems, Protection systems). Must have worked on customer sites.
- Ideally experience with mechanical assembly.
- Familiarity with technical drawings, schematics, and parts lists.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to work on customer sites.
