Infrastructure Engineer (Automation/Scripting)

Infrastructure Engineer (Automation/Scripting) – 3-month contract – Northampton (Hybrid)

My Customer is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer (Automation) to support a major HR system transformation. They are migrating to Workday and need a skilled engineer to document existing processes, analyse scripts, and automate HR workflows—particularly for Joiners, Leavers, and Movers (JLM) processes.

You'll work closely with HR and IT teams to streamline processes and ensure seamless integration with the new system.

Key Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer:

• Sit with users to document existing HR processes and scripts.
• Strong PowerShell scripting experience is required
• Develop and implement automation solutions for JLM workflows.
• Script and integrate processes between Active Directory (Entra ID) and Workday.
• Improve and streamline identity management, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
• Work with HR, IT, and third-party vendors to ensure a smooth migration.
• You are required onsite in Northampton 3 days a week.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong automation and scripting skills – PowerShell is a must!
• Experience with Active Directory (Entra ID) and identity management.
• Knowledge of Workday or other CRM/HR systems.
• Proven experience automating Joiners, Leavers, Movers (JLM) processes.
• Ability to document and analyse existing scripts and workflows.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with API integrations & workflow automation tools.
• Understanding of IT security best practices around user access.
• Previous experience working on HR system migrations.
