Cyber Security Engineer – Solihull – Hybrid - £50,000 ±

VIQU are working with a leading company in freight audit and payment services who are looking to hire a cyber security engineer to provide advanced technical support in securing their IT infrastructure.

The role involves resolving complex security issues related to data protection, vulnerability management, and safeguarding against cyber threats, including ransomware. You will implement and optimize security protocols to ensure IT system integrity and collaborate with internal teams to identify and mitigate security risks.

Key Requirements for the Cyber Security Engineer:

• Strong technical expertise in firewalls, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with Microsoft Stack (Azure, Active Directory, O365).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Defender (EDR solutions)
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 standards and GDPR compliance (Governance, Risk, and Compliance).
• Industry-recognized certifications, ideally in Cyber Security or similar fields.
• A solid understanding of cyber security concepts and the ability to implement and manage security protocols.
• Experience in team leadership, guiding and mentoring junior engineers and managing security projects.

Key responsibilities of the Cyber Security Engineer:

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools to protect IT infrastructure.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents, ensuring swift resolution and minimal business disruption.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 27001 and GDPR by developing security policies, conducting audits, and managing risk assessments.
• Configure and optimize Microsoft security tools, including Defender, Azure Security Center, and Active Directory security policies, to enhance threat detection and prevention.
• Lead security initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and provide cybersecurity training to promote a strong security culture within the organization.
